XIN JIA PO
“Asian style” illustration done as an homage to the country I lived in for many years. This illustration was done in common colours used in Chinese art and décor. The colour red in Chinese culture symbolises good luck, the colour blue symbolises immortality and the season of Spring. Green is a symbol of good health and prosperity, it is also the colour of Jade which is a very common gemstone featured in older Chinese women’s jewellery. “Xin Jia Po” is “Singapore” written in phonetically in Mandarin.
